Lifewalk

Victory is the backdrop of my life. Joy is the soundtrack, inflected with hope. Love surrounds me. Faith is the ink that inspires my writing.

This is my life, my walk in words. Life is a journey to eternity. Destination: heaven. Hope to see you there.

If my Greek is correct, my given name means "beautiful." I pray my "lifewalk" is a beautiful one.

Redefinition.

Discontentment with the course of life often leads to individuals attempting to repurpose their lives into something perhaps unintended in the blueprints — that is, God’s plan and design. His specifications, then are ignored. The proverbial “new leaf” is turned. We find ourselves tiptoeing toward novel ideas that would develop into new habits which lend themselves in furnishing a more meaningful life.

Um, sure.

Abandoning anything with zeal should be the ignorance of the call to salvation. All other attempts at redefining our lives are futile when left at the devices of our own hands. As for believers, we should desire a life crafted by the Creator’s fingertips and burnished by the Blood of Jesus. There shouldn’t be an ounce of “self” remaining. When others see us, they should see the Christ in us. Not a bit of our old selves remain:

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. — 2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV

It is embracing, daily, the new life in Christ Jesus that we find contentment, purpose, and meaning. For as long as we chase after His will, we will never be bored with life and constantly seek to redefine ourselves into something we were never supposed to be.

The best redefinition of anyone’s life is to be known as a follower of Christ.

Fire.

Fire, by its very nature, consumes that which is flammable; likewise God, by His nature, consumes in judgement that which is offensive to Him. How immensely thankful should believers be that the Judge chooses to shield them from that fire with the covering of Christ!

— Power for Living, Summer Quarterly, for July 11, 2010 (COGIC)

2 Thessalonians 1:8, KJV

Purifying fire. Righteous fire.  While the enemy may hurl his fiery darts to attack us as we walk with Christ, we must not be discouraged. God will avenge His people. Endure. Stand. Wait on the Lord. Don’t faint. Hold up your shield of faith and allow God to handle the rest on your behalf.

Disillusioned.

I’m disillusioned. There, I said it. Add me to the growing list of disenchanted twenty-something Christians all over the place. I am so tired of the lack of transparency and the amount of hypocrisy I encounter every day, and I am so tired of those very same things that I see in myself.

I work in…
