Lifewalk

Victory is the backdrop of my life. Joy is the soundtrack, inflected with hope. Love surrounds me. Faith is the ink that inspires my writing.

This is my life, my walk in words. Life is a journey to eternity. Destination: heaven. Hope to see you there.

If my Greek is correct, my given name means "beautiful." I pray my "lifewalk" is a beautiful one.

Not an Option.

Not an option — my soul SHALL make her boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear thereof and BE glad.

Not an option — I WILL bless the Lord at all times; His praises SHALL continually be in my mouth.

GOD gets the glory. Worrying and complaining, fussing and fighting about our problems does not magnify God, but compounds our issues. Our choices (in speech and in action), then, reveal what matters most in our lives.

As for me, nothing else matters. God is GREAT in my life! I have no choice — no option — but to honor Him with the fruit of my lips and the life I live. I MUST reflect His glory in this dark world.

Be light, friends.

Something.

“Whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men …” —Colossians 3:23

Everyone has purpose and is equipped and gifted to fulfill it within their lifetime. Don’t become disinterested, disillusioned, or discouraged. Remove complacency.

Go forth and accomplish the work God has specifically designed for you to do. Do. Something. Now.

Opportunities.

Every “good” opportunity is not a God opportunity. Seek God. Be wise. Live well.

Life.

I hold to the opinion that whatever befalls a person is not the direct fault of others and sometimes not even their own ill-informed decision-making but often just the course of life. We are taught lessons by our experiences so we should try to cherish and seek those lessons a little more and little further.

Above all, I was young and now I’m … not so young, but I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken. Never. Times may be in drought, but we don’t have to be because we have access to the appropriate Source. It is in God that we live, move and have our being.

“Your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be” (Job 8:7).

Dusty.

Due to discouragement or distraction, the gifts and talents God has imparted often get abandoned, placed on shelves to be used at some unknown date in the future, and largely ignored or forgotten. Gifts are not preserves. Use them. Don’t allow them to be remain in fancy jars, sitting pretty and unmoved, admired from afar, but waiting and waiting. Simply accumulating dust but resting without realizing the full potential of its purpose.

Dusty, stagnate, and inanimate things don’t give God glory. They cannot. Blow the dust off, breath new life into the gifts and talents that have been lying dormant on the shelf of despair, laziness, or shyness and make them alive once again. Refresh those things that have become stale. Stir up the gift within you (2 Timothy 1:6)!

These skills God gave and He didn’t give haphazardly. He chose each one of us specifically by His Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:4-31) has deemed them useful in the possession in the person who has made his or herself available for His service. (That includes you, believer!) Be both challenged and encouraged to use the tools that God has equipped us with to edify the Body and build His kingdom.
