Lifewalk

Victory is the backdrop of my life. Joy is the soundtrack, inflected with hope. Love surrounds me. Faith is the ink that inspires my writing.

This is my life, my walk in words. Life is a journey to eternity. Destination: heaven. Hope to see you there.

If my Greek is correct, my given name means "beautiful." I pray my "lifewalk" is a beautiful one.

Required.

As humans, we require and crave love. We’re designed that way. Without satisfying that need for love, we become an empty shell of the purpose we were designed for by God. Therefore, it’s our requirement and responsibility to possess and show love. Daily. To others. Everyone.

The kind love the soul thirsts and pants for was made manifest through the life of Jesus Christ. He fully displayed what love should look like. Love is humility and making real —making kinetic — authentic justice and righteous toward others. Tangible love.

We cannot expect an abundant, successful life without the love of Christ. Go possess it! Love is what’s required.

Happy.

I’m so bubbly right now. I’m usually quite reserved, especially in unfamiliar surroundings or people, but I just feel this excitement. A renewed, re-stoked fire for Jesus. I can’t wait to see what He has in store. Next. I know it’s gonna be awesome. He just loves us that way. I’m beaming.

The joy of the Lord. Renewed. Revitalized. Rejoicing! Pumped!

Trust?

If the very elements obey Him, why is it so hard for us to have faith? Why can’t we trust Him? (Mark 4:35-41)

As the hymn goes, “Dark clouds may rise/Stormy winds may blow” so if He says, “go to the other side,” He’s more than able to get you there in one piece!

Keep Jesus on board. He’ll calm your storm, protect, deliver, comfort and provide a way of escape for you. When you arrive to your destination, you’ll arrive victoriously, safely, soundly and with increased faith.

Lifeguard.

Just as the lifeguard sits high above the water, God sits high and looks low. He could see that His children were down here struggling — drowning in the Sea of Sin, so He sent His son, Jesus to jump in and save us!

The thing is, are you accepting the help or are you trying so hard to save yourself that you are fighting against the lifeguard?

A Good Push.

Remember that opposition has a purpose. We have our challenges, our Pharaohs as did Moses, but Paul wrote in Romans 9:17:

For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: ‘I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.’

As a friend, who inspired me to share this post with you, so accurately put it:

Instead of us trying to fight against the opposition, all God wants us to do is move forward. Why worry about [the opposers] being on our heels? When it’s all said and done, they will still be behind us. Glory! It’s [when] we stop, they can catch up to us.

Indeed, naysayers and backbiters have purpose. Although this particular bunch of folk often try to make us feel troubled on every side, perplexed, persecuted, or even cast down, we must not let them (or circumstances) discourage or distract us (2 Corinthians 4:8-9).

It’s a challenge, and sometimes we might want to physically contend for the faith in the Name of Jesus, but with Him, we can make it.

Ultimately, opposition, as uncomfortable and unquiet it is, gives that good push to live the plan God hand-wrote for our lives. Don’t forget, as long as the opposition is behind us, it’s just that: behind us. Don’t look back. Keep pressing forward.
