Lifewalk

Victory is the backdrop of my life. Joy is the soundtrack, inflected with hope. Love surrounds me. Faith is the ink that inspires my writing.

This is my life, my walk in words. Life is a journey to eternity. Destination: heaven. Hope to see you there.

If my Greek is correct, my given name means "beautiful." I pray my "lifewalk" is a beautiful one.

My Song.

When eliminating negativity, you might find yourself alone. Guess that’s why there’s a drama “club.” I’m not a member. Don’t wanna join.

If the harmonies of others don’t blend well with the song of my life, I’ll simply sing solo.

Redefinition.

Discontentment with the course of life often leads to individuals attempting to repurpose their lives into something perhaps unintended in the blueprints — that is, God’s plan and design. His specifications, then are ignored. The proverbial “new leaf” is turned. We find ourselves tiptoeing toward novel ideas that would develop into new habits which lend themselves in furnishing a more meaningful life.

Um, sure.

Abandoning anything with zeal should be the ignorance of the call to salvation. All other attempts at redefining our lives are futile when left at the devices of our own hands. As for believers, we should desire a life crafted by the Creator’s fingertips and burnished by the Blood of Jesus. There shouldn’t be an ounce of “self” remaining. When others see us, they should see the Christ in us. Not a bit of our old selves remain:

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. — 2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV

It is embracing, daily, the new life in Christ Jesus that we find contentment, purpose, and meaning. For as long as we chase after His will, we will never be bored with life and constantly seek to redefine ourselves into something we were never supposed to be.

The best redefinition of anyone’s life is to be known as a follower of Christ.

Hands Off.

Control freak? Sure. Need to have hands all over any and everything that stumbles in your life, huh? It’s the part of human nature that makes us feel useful, creative, and purposed. Granted, some stuff is easy to handle. But others, well, its like trying to iron out the most cantankerous, inedible wrinkle. Ever. Too much sweat with little result.

For toughies like that, why not trust God to handle it?

Incomparable, infinite wisdom: He needs no counsel. He cares so much about the affairs of your life, right down to the most precise detail. He loves you so expansively, there’s no way to measure the depth of His compassion. And get this: that very compassion — His mercies, never fail! He’s infallible. Whatever He’s made is good! Guess what? That includes you.

Amazing. The Lord God created the very air you breathe, the earth you trod, the water that both refreshes and cleanses you. The light the guides your way. He is that Light. He even takes care to order your steps. Just amazing. So why wouldn’t you want to rely on Him?

Depend on God to iron out those huge, deep-set wrinkles of your life’s situations. Keep your hands off surrendered problems. I know you want to pick up the iron and do the work yourself, but listen. God doesn’t need any help, please and thank you.

The only pressing we need to do is keep moving toward the mark!

Choose.

Imagine if God went on hiatus for a nano second! We’d cease to exist. He’s faithful and He requires the same from us. “Choose ye this day.” You can’t say you love Him and live for the world. Impossible.

Don’t live unwisely. Don’t live dangerously. Can’t say stuff like, “Okay, I’m gonna take a break. See You in a few, God.” Sorry, love you, but it doesn’t work like that, sweetums.

Disillusioned.

I’m disillusioned. There, I said it. Add me to the growing list of disenchanted twenty-something Christians all over the place. I am so tired of the lack of transparency and the amount of hypocrisy I encounter every day, and I am so tired of those very same things that I see in myself.

I work in…
