Lifewalk

Victory is the backdrop of my life. Joy is the soundtrack, inflected with hope. Love surrounds me. Faith is the ink that inspires my writing.

This is my life, my walk in words. Life is a journey to eternity. Destination: heaven. Hope to see you there.

If my Greek is correct, my given name means "beautiful." I pray my "lifewalk" is a beautiful one.

Redefinition.

Discontentment with the course of life often leads to individuals attempting to repurpose their lives into something perhaps unintended in the blueprints — that is, God’s plan and design. His specifications, then are ignored. The proverbial “new leaf” is turned. We find ourselves tiptoeing toward novel ideas that would develop into new habits which lend themselves in furnishing a more meaningful life.

Um, sure.

Abandoning anything with zeal should be the ignorance of the call to salvation. All other attempts at redefining our lives are futile when left at the devices of our own hands. As for believers, we should desire a life crafted by the Creator’s fingertips and burnished by the Blood of Jesus. There shouldn’t be an ounce of “self” remaining. When others see us, they should see the Christ in us. Not a bit of our old selves remain:

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. — 2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV

It is embracing, daily, the new life in Christ Jesus that we find contentment, purpose, and meaning. For as long as we chase after His will, we will never be bored with life and constantly seek to redefine ourselves into something we were never supposed to be.

The best redefinition of anyone’s life is to be known as a follower of Christ.

My husband is on the RADIO!

He’s ministering the Word of God: “There’s Only One Way.” Yay!

Thank You, Lord, for opportunities and opened doors to impart your Word and compel others to live for You.

Free.

Freedom from hurts, regrets, worries, or doubts. Freedom from self, others, and guilt. Freedom, most important, from sin.

A song of freedom.

Free, free to lift my hands.

Free to say, “Amen.”

Free to know that someday I will smile again.

I’m free.

Free to laugh, not cry.

Free to live, not die.

Because of Your love,

I’m free.

— Chorus to Free, Kirk Franklin

Happy Fourth. Celebrate B I G because whom the Son sets free is free indeed! (John 8:36)

Lifeguard.

Just as the lifeguard sits high above the water, God sits high and looks low. He could see that His children were down here struggling — drowning in the Sea of Sin, so He sent His son, Jesus to jump in and save us!

The thing is, are you accepting the help or are you trying so hard to save yourself that you are fighting against the lifeguard?

My Prayer.

Dear Father God,

Do not allow me to become disconnected from You by the distractions of the world, my own selfish motives and cares, people, or the simple things in life magnified by the lens of poor perception.

Help me, to see things Your way, grasping the whole concept; focus my thoughts and sharpen my wits that I may have full understanding of the purpose You’ve destined for me.

Help me to operate in Your power and strength. I don’t want to lose the ability to do good, show mercy, or extend grace to others. I need You.

Grant this, I pray, in the matchless Name of Jesus. Thank God. Amen.

Washed Clean.

Generous in love—God, give grace! Huge in mercy—wipe out my bad record. Scrub away my guilt, soak out my sins in your laundry. I know how bad I’ve been; my sins are staring me down.

You’re the One I’ve violated, and you’ve seen it all, seen the full extent of my evil. You have all the facts before you; whatever you decide about me is fair. I’ve been out of step with you for a long time, in the wrong since before I was born. What you’re after is truth from the inside out. Enter me, then; conceive a new, true life.

Soak me in your laundry and I’ll come out clean, scrub me and I’ll have a snow-white life. Tune me in to foot-tapping songs, set these once-broken bones to dancing. Don’t look too close for blemishes, give me a clean bill of health. God, make a fresh start in me, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life. Don’t throw me out with the trash, or fail to breathe holiness in me. Bring me back from gray exile, put a fresh wind in my sails! Give me a job teaching rebels your ways so the lost can find their way home. Commute my death sentence, God, my salvation God, and I’ll sing anthems to your life-giving ways.Unbutton my lips, dear God; I’ll let loose with your praise.

Going through the motions doesn’t please you, a flawless performance is nothing to you. I learned God-worship when my pride was shattered. Heart-shattered lives ready for love don’t for a moment escape God’s notice.

Make Zion the place you delight in, repair Jerusalem’s broken-down walls. Then you’ll get real worship from us, acts of worship small and large, including all the bulls they can heave onto your altar!

King David, Psalm 51Message
